The long, prickly fruit comes from the graviola tree, an evergreen native to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. It’s also known as custard apple, guanabana and Brazilian paw paw and Soursop. In herbal medicine the soursop / graviola tree leaves are used to treat stomach ailments, fever, parasitic infections, hypertension and rheumatism. It’s used as a sedative, as well. Many sources suggest Graviola is helpful for the side effects of Chemotherapy. 1/2 – 1 level teaspoon daily is sufficient. This powder can be taken by adding one level teaspoon to water or juice and stirring briskly, although it may not dissolve. Alternatively it can be mixed with food such as yoghurt, honey, custard or banana, sprinkled over breakfast cereal or blended in a smoothie. Country of Origin: Sri Lanka
